Membership & Fees

An annual membership registration and fee payment is required for Waterford Hockey Club. A separate annual membership registration and fee payment is also required for Hockey Ireland.

Waterford Hockey Club Membership

All new and existing Waterford Hockey Club members must return a completed Registration eForm along with paying the appropriate membership fees. (see Club Membership Process section below for more details).

All membership fees are due by Friday, 13th October 2023. A strict ‘no pay no play’ policy will apply after this date.

All non club members, who are considering becoming a member of Waterford Hockey Club are required to pay a €20 fee at their first session, so they can be registered as a temporary member of the club. This fee allows participants to attend 4 try-out sessions, after which they are required to register as a new member and pay the appropriate membership fee if continuing. This initial €20 payment should be deducted from the membership fee amount when completing registration.

Annual Club Membership Fees

For children’s relevant age category, age is as of 1st September 2023.

Full member (18 and over):  €240

College student / unemployed:  €160

Age 15 – U18:  €160

Age 11 – 14:  €130

Age 5 – 10:  €110

Family membership (up to 2 adults plus 1 or more children):  €480

Associate / social member:  €65

Volunteer:  €0

Club Membership Process

Annual membership to Waterford Hockey Club is a two-step process. 

Step 1:  Submit your completed Registration eForm

Download the Registration eForm using the link above. The form can be filled out electronically or printed and filled out by hand.

Save or scan your completed Registration eForm as a PDF document and email directly to the club ‘Membership Secretary’, Sally Kavanagh, at memberships.whc@gmail.com.

  • Download the Registration eForm before filling it out to ensure your inputted data will save correctly.
  • Ensure all relevant sections of the form are completed.
  • All forms must be signed. Forms will not be accepted if they are not signed by all relevant parties.
  • New members will be issued with a Hockey Ireland Registration Number (H.I. Reg. No.) after registration is processed by the club Membership Secretary.
  • Existing members can contact the club Membership Secretary if they do not know their Hockey Ireland Registration Number (H.I. Reg. No.).

Step 2:  Submit your membership payment

All membership to be paid by bank transfer / online banking.

Once completed, please email a copy of your proof of bank payment directly to the club ‘Treasurer’, Michael Keating, at treasurer.waterfordhockey@gmail.com. Our club’s bank account details are as follows:

Payee Account Name: Waterford Hockey Club   IBAN: IE33 IPBS 9906 3500 4271 01   BIC: IPBSIE2D   Reference: (VERY IMPORTANT) please use your Hockey Ireland member’s registration number (if known) or member’s initial and surname in your reference so that we can clearly identify your online bank payment.

If you wish to pay by installments please contact our club Treasurer, Michael Keating, to confirm an agreed payment schedule.

It is essential that the membership fees are paid on time for the purpose of enabling the club to pay affiliation fees, insurance***, pitch rental, lights and equipment bills, etc.

*** Our club insurance is limited to third party (Public Liability) insurance only. We recommend that all members have their own personal insurance in place. Payment of your annual Hockey Ireland membership includes personal injury/accident insurance cover.

Hockey Ireland Membership

Hockey Ireland is the national governing body for the sport of field hockey in Ireland. Waterford Hockey Club is affiliated to Hockey Ireland and the Munster Branch of Hockey Ireland.

Hockey Ireland requires that all Waterford Hockey Club members must also be registered members of Hockey Ireland. Each club member must hold a valid Hockey Ireland annual membership and membership number. Hockey Ireland typically charges a small annual membership fee, which each Waterford Hockey Club member is required to pay directly to Hockey Ireland. Your Hockey Ireland membership is a separate membership, in addition to your Waterford Hockey Club membership.

Hockey Ireland membership includes ‘personal injury/accident insurance cover’ and ‘other benefits’.
