Training Times

Training sessions typically take place from September to April at Newtown School hockey pitch in Waterford city.  We also have an additional academy, Stradbally Hockey Academy, which is based at Stradbally soccer pitch in Waterford county.

For the new 2020 / 2021 hockey season our training schedule below will commence on the following dates:

Currently, most teams will commence training from week beginning Monday, 10th August 2020.

Waterford Hockey Academy on Sunday, 16th August 2020.  Stradbally Hockey Academy on Wednesday, 16th September 2020.

Please monitor our social media for any training time updates and all COVID-19 ‘Return to Play’ protocols.

An online COVID-19 Health Questionnaire must be completed 48 hours in advance of all participant’s first training session.

Waterford Hockey Academy caters for all children, new to the sport of hockey, from Junior Infants (from a minimum age of 5) up to the age of 10.

Stradbally Hockey Academy caters for all children, new to the sport of hockey, from Junior Infants (from a minimum age of 5) up to 6^th Class.
